Alfatam (Tamsulosin Hcl 0.4mg)

Alfatam (Tamsulosin HCl 0.4 mg) is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocker used primarily to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)—a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland in men. It helps relieve urinary symptoms by relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder neck.

Uses of Alfatam (Tamsulosin 0.4 mg)

🔵 1. Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)

  • Improves urine flow

  • Reduces symptoms such as:

    • Difficulty starting urination

    • Weak stream

    • Frequent urination (especially at night)

    • Urgency and dribbling

🔵 2. Chronic Prostatitis (off-label)

  • Sometimes used to relieve pelvic pain and urinary symptoms in chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS).

🔍 How It Works

  • Relaxes smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck by blocking alpha-1 receptors, making it easier to urinate.
