Gastrohel (Vonoprazan 10mg)
Gastrohel (Vonoprazan 10mg) is a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) used to reduce stomach acid. It is newer than traditional proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and is known for its faster onset and longer-lasting acid suppression.
✅ Main Uses of Gastrohel (Vonoprazan 10mg):
-
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD):
-
Treats acid reflux and heartburn symptoms.
-
Helps heal erosive esophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus).
-
-
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) Eradication:
-
Used in combination therapy with antibiotics (like amoxicillin and clarithromycin) to eliminate H. pylori infection, which can lead to ulcers.
-
-
Peptic Ulcer Disease:
-
Treats and prevents gastric and duodenal ulcers, especially those related to NSAID use.
-
-
Zollinger–Ellison Syndrome (less commonly):
-
May be considered for treating excessive acid production due to tumors.
-
🔬 How It Works:
Unlike PPIs that block the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme irreversibly, Gastrohel (Vonoprazan 10mg) competitively blocks potassium binding on this enzyme, making it faster acting and more stable in the stomach’s acidic environment.
